Currumbin Longboard Club
April 2007 Contest Report

The lads numbered up well to take on mother ocean...

5-6ft sets that hit you like SHANE WEBKE at Origin level!

We saw a lot of carnage:

MICHAEL ORD making the take off - only to have the solid lip deck him from behind;

The "never say die "attitude goes to DAMO ‘Damage Control' - unbelievable self inflicted pain, if you need any dings fixed, tell ‘em Damo sent you for 10% discount;

I mean everyone was having a real go. New members STEVE and MICK surfed well. Great stuff!!

The final:

STEVE 3RD surfed well making the final coming in ahead of yours truly (ROY) 4TH, then SULLY 5TH out of respect for his living hero - yours truly (ROY).The winner of the April Comp, true #1 keen surfer, BIG DOG 1ST...Picking the right waves and getting great rides, he enjoyed every minute of it, well done Sly Dog.

The seconds:

The second finalists were fantastic pulling out all the stops. JOSH 2nd was hitting the power spots and looked great, very close DAMO 1ST just in front, with MICK 3RD and BALLY 4TH.

The thirds:

The thirds went to SCROOGE 1ST, LOG CABINS 2ND, RANCE 3RD and DONOVAN 4TH (not well).

"Iron men in wooden ships,

Sail out upon the sea!"

Moral of the title - Don't lend your board to DAMO.

Retired after first round RANCE a great help doing what you do well, thanks mate.

The Man of the Match goes to LOG CABINS, super effort to bring the trailer with the gear for all of us to enjoy the day, thankyou.

"Enjoy the ride and enjoy the time..."

See you on the 20/5/07, Cockroaches.
